Rodney started this Blog when he was Leader of the Genealogy Group for the Higham & Rushden U3A (University of the Third Age) organisation. The U3A is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full-time employment providing educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment. He is now a member of Hillingdon U3A

Between 1829 and 1842 Ordnance Survey Ireland completed the first ever large-scale survey of an entire country. Acclaimed for their accuracy, these maps are regarded by cartographers as amongst the finest ever produced.
