Searching is free, but this is a subscription site
In addition, there is the Times Digital Archive ( http://archive.timesonline.co.uk/tol/archive/) which contains digitised copies of The Times from 1785 to 1985. Again, this is a subscription site

Starting the blog

I intend to use this blog as an extension to the U3A Genealogy course lessons that I run in Rushden, available to all of the course members. And because of the nature of a blog, anyone on the internet.
It will also provide a single repository for me to keep a record of all the interesting websites and other interesting genealogy information that I come across.
